The 2024/2025 bursary program is now open for applications, providing financial assistance to students pursuing higher education in fields critical to the province’s economic growth.
About the Bursary
The Western Cape Provincial Treasury Bursary Programme was established in 2008 to address skills shortages in fields such as Economics, Finance, Accounting, and Auditing. The program aims to support students who may not have the financial means to pursue tertiary education, thereby contributing to the province’s economic development.
Benefits of the Bursary
- Full-time bursaries for undergraduate and postgraduate studies
- Financial assistance to students who may not have the means to pursue higher education

Requirements to Apply for the Bursary
- South African citizenship and residency in the Western Cape
- Age between 17 and 35 years
- Average of 65% or higher in previous year’s studies
- Not in receipt of any other bursaries or state funding
- Postgraduate applicants who have already obtained a B. Degree in a targeted field may still apply
